Lincolnshire Group – November Report 2025

Stuart Kent

As I write this Stuart our stalwart austineer & committee member is doing

well after his recent operation. He is home & we wish him a speedy & full

recovery.

End of Season Run

A splendid turn out of some 20 cars with 38 members dining at the Mkt. Rasen

Golf Club. Once again Paddy & Ande put together a super route along some

real Austin country roads. The almighty must have been pleased with us as it

did not rain until we arrived at the Golf Club! This year the committee

decided to support a charity and Prostate Cancer Uk was chosen. A voluntary

donation of £5 per car was requested and £95 cash was collected. I rang and

donated with my debit card and thus was able to “Gift Aid’ a further 20%. At

the briefing Paddy told everyone not be a Pied Piper but to do their own

navigating. Guess what ? Bruce went wrong [ again ] and was followed by

Tony Johnson!!!!!!!

Quiz Night

Once again Chris Gadsby came up trumps with our annual interactive quiz. There were

five tables of four, a rather poor turn out! First prize this year was 5 litres of classic

engine oil. Far more useful than bottles of wine!!!! The winners were a table of four new

members “ Nettleham Chummies “, with the “Desperados” coming in at fifth!

Nic Turley organised a Yorks. event on Servicing, what oils to use & many other helpful

hints & tips. A copy of his handout is now on our website. Thanks Nic.
