New Lincs. Gp Secretary required

In 2024 I gave 2 years notice that after 15 years I wished to relinquish my post

and asking for someone to step forward. However, no one did and I have

carried on during 2026. In January 2027 I will be 80 years old and am

definitely resigning my role. I will most probably not be at the AGM (Jan. 13 th

2027) but will be somewhere in the world celebrating my special birthday.

The ball is now firmly in the court of you the members to step forward and for

one of you to offer to run the Club. I am perfectly willing to continue organising

both the Sevens to the Sea and the annual Garden Party, also storage of our

A7 assets at my property is not an issue.

Dunholme Lodge Visit

Sue and I love attending this event but unfortunately I hurt my back and we

were unable to attend. Paddy Malone kindly sent in this report:

After the searing heat wave, Sunday, June 28th delivered perfect weather to

enjoy the many attractions at Dunholme Lodge Open Gardens. Apart from the

stunning grounds and gardens, the plant and craft stalls and the ukulele band

playing popular tunes throughout the day, there were the two small museums

to explore.

The first gives a fascinating insight into the squadrons stationed

there during the second World War when farmland was sacrificed to provide

yet another airfield in ‘Bomber County’.

The second museum, full of artefacts, photographs and memorabilia tells the story of the first three post-war airfield racing circuits: Dunholme Lodge, Goodwood and Silverstone. Although now overshadowed by the fame of Goodwood and Silverstone, in its day Dunholme was on a par and witnessed many of the speed stars of the day on two wheels and four; Ken Wharton and Stirling Moss among them. All fascinating stuff !

One of the objectives of the Open Garden Scheme is to raise money for health

and nursing charities. It is good that our eclectic display of cars is able to add

to the attractions for the general public year after year and support such

worthy causes, whilst providing us with an interesting and relaxing day out –

long may it continue.
