Drive it Day - International Bomber Command Centre

This is third time I have visited, each time with a guide, and learnt something new each time. We were privileged to be able to park at the front entrance and our guide Andrew met us and gave us an excellent animated tour.

We were then left to roam the Centre independently. As VE Day was soon to arrive there were many specially produced noticeboards explaining the lives and roles of the men and women who served and suffered for our freedom.

It was an extremely emotional and poignant reminder of what they sacrificed on our behalf. Also, there was a stupendous display of ceramic poppies in the shape of a Lancaster bomber.
