As you know I am looking to retire my role as of January 2027, having given two years notice. I thought it might be beneficial to detail what the role entails and to ask whether anybody would be interested in taking this on.

The role with the support of willing local committee members, currently serving:

  • Arrange a monthly planning meeting (first week of each month) to discuss future programmes, club car, finance etc.,

In addition - Liaise with the following reference:

  • Graham Becket - Loan of the Club Car to members

  • John Gray the National Membership Secretary - New members to our area

  • Clive Neale - Obtaining MSUK Certificates of Exemption for Club runs

  • Ben Gadsby the Club Treasurer - Club Finances

September through to April liaise with Trevor at Navenby Methodist Church Hall to book our monthly meetings during the second week of each month - currently held on a Wednesday.

Meet the National Magazine Editors deadline each month with a Lincs report giving up to date news, dates, deadlines and photos.

We are currently using Mailchimp for some 72 members on the distribution list to further promote events etc.,

Sevens to the Sea, May Meander & the October end of season run currently covered by myself, Paddy Malone and Heather Maitland. the "new" Secretary may have fresh ideas for these events.

Liaise with Margaret Clarke, the Club Web Administrator, reference the ongoing content of the Clubs Website.

Currently we do not have any real Facebook, Instagram or Whatsapp prescence but it would be welcomed if the "new" Secretary could initiate.

Socially book lunch for the 3rd Wednesday of each month September - June - currently using Woodcocks at Burton Waters. Also take over the bookings for the annual Xmas Lunch and Summer Garden Party.

Finally, this is a role I have enjoyed I have enjoyed over the years and I would hope someone will come forward who can not only provide a smooth transition but also have fresh IT ideas and enthusiasm. The new person can rest assured they will have support and guidance from me in the early days.

Peter Rowlands - Group Secretary
