Motorcars at the Manor - Sunday 9th August

"Motorcars at The Manor" - was a new event for us and gave us the opportunity to study 200 interesting cars gathered within the stunning grounds of West Ashby Manor, parked by the private lake whilst their owners basked in glorious sunshine yarning about their cherished chariots.

Over 50% of the splendid array comprised  Veteran, Edwardian, Vintage and pre war cars, although very few Sevens were in evidence. Rolls Royce, Alvis, Riley and Ford Model T's were out in force together with Armstrong Siddeley, Singer, Talbot, Bentley, Sunbeam, Rover, MG, Morris and the larger Austins, not forgetting the curved dash Oldsmobile - The list is long!

The post war cars sported equal diversity with many rare and interesting cars to admire. Although not of our era it is sobering to reflect that some of these are now 80 years old - Crikey!

One lovely feature was the vintage pedal tricycle ice cream cart peddling (Or was it pedalling?) delicious and generously filled cones for very modest prices.

Overall a very relaxing day spent with kindred spirits raising significant funds for charity.

Can we recommend it?  Yes.

Will we go again next year, even if only for the ice cream?  Certainly!
